The North West Province is a province with 02 districts namely Kurunegala and Puttalam, and a large number of people in this province are engaged in industrial activities using various small industries as their means of livelihood. Their industrial activities are being carried out amidst various obstacles, and especially the majority of these industries are still conducting their industry at the primary level using traditional methods. As a result, it can be pointed out that the industrialist living in this province has faced a great challenge to continue his industry in an effective manner. Considering the above facts, it is possible to identify the need for the intervention of the public sector or any other party to continue these industries in an effective manner, and accordingly, it can be pointed out that this program implemented by this department is very suitable for the provision of machinery/equipment required for the industrialists working in the small industries sector on the basis of 50% contribution.
In order to improve the economic, social and livelihood of the community, it is essential to develop infrastructure and modernize existing resources with maximum efficiency. Keeping this concept in mind, under the Actionable Development Plan for the year 2025 (PSDG/CBG), the modernization of community centers, technical training centers and warehouse premises scattered in many areas was implemented.
